Dopo una pausa di 26 mesi a causa della Pandemia il servizio notturno della metropolitana tornerà sulla linea Jubilee dal 21 Maggio.
Transport for London (TfL) lo ha finalmente confermato. Il servizio sarà attivo la notte il Venerdì sera/Sabato mattina e di nuovo il Sabato sera/Domenica mattina sulla linea tra Stanmore e Stratford.
Nonostante la reintroduzione del servizio i rapporti tra il sindacato RMT e TfL rimane teso. I membri di RMT al momento non iniziano i turni di lavoro in orario sulle linee in cui è stato reintrodotto il servizio notturno, ossia Central e Victoria e stanno valutando se estendere gli scioperi anche per la linea Jubilee.
TfL sta lavorando per reintrodurre il servizio di notte anche sulle linee Northern e Piccadilly entro questa estate. Infatti i dati pubblicati dal Dipartimento dei Trasporti mostrano che la domanda di viaggi di piacere nei weekend sta tornando ai livelli pre-pandemia; Domenica scorsa ha raggiunto l’87%. Si tratta di un segnale importante per tutto il settore del tempo libero e della vita notturna.

TFL, JUBILEE LINE: NIGHT TUBE SERVICE WILL RETURN
After a 26-month break due to the Pandemic, the Night Tube service will return to the Jubilee Line from 21st May.
Transport for London (TfL) has finally confirmed this. The service will be active at night on Friday evening/Saturday morning and again on Saturday evening/Sunday morning on the line between Stanmore and Stratford.
Despite the reintroduction of the service the relations between the union RMT and tfl remain tense. RMT members currently do not start working hourly on lines where night service has been reintroduced (on Central and Victoria lines) and they are considering extending strikes to the Jubilee line.
Tfl is working to reintroduce night service on the Northern and Piccadilly lines by this summer. In fact, the data published by the Department of Transport shows that the demand for pleasure trips on weekends is returning to pre-pandemia levels; last Sunday it reached 87%. This is an important signal for the entire leisure and nightlife sector.
